After re-booting my machine or after starting my machine
and after I login, the system32 folder opens and appears
on my desktop. If I close the folder and reboot again, the
same thing occurs. Why ? And How do I keep this from
occuring ?

Thanks,

I was out here looking for the guy that tried to help me and saw your problem. Thought I send this to you. Hopefully, it will work OK for you

I read an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer by John J.Fried. It wasn’t exactly what was happening with me but was related. I tried it and it worked

I did the following to determine what was causing the C:\Windows\System32 folder to automatically open when my computer booted up

Clicked STAR

Clicked Ru

Typed: msconfi

Clicked O

Clicked the Startup tab on the System Configuration Utility window

A list of items that automatically run when my PC is turned on appeared

To the left of each item is a box that contains a check mark indicating that that item will run when the PC is turned on

I then tested each item one by one by Clicking the box to the left of the item to remove the check mark

Removing the check mark meant that it would not open automatically

Clicked Apply

Clicked Close

Clicked Restart

When the C:\Windows\System32 folder opened upon restarting my PC, I went through the above process again – restoring a check mark to the box that I had removed previously and removing the check mark from the next item

It took awhile but I finally got it right

The item that seemed to have caused the problem was L.ENG. Once I removed the check from this one, the problem disappeared. Everything else is working fine

I can now start me PC without the C:\Windows\System32 folder opening
