Like many others, I have the problem of the system32 folder displaying
shortly after log on. It happens with any user, but not in safe mode.
I have trawled through the previous threads for some inspiration, but having
tried all previous fixes, nothing has changed.
Please can anyone help?

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. It can also
be caused by an entry in these same keys that starts with a " / ."

Hi Bruce.
Many thanks for the prompt response. However, having read your answer on
other threads, I've already looked there, but don't see anything strange.
I have run regedit, found the appropriate keys, exported these to a file,
opened the file in notepad, then copied and pasted into this reply. I NOTE
THAT THEY READ SLIGHTLY DIFFERENTLY THAN IN THE REGISTRY ie more "" marks.
When I read the keys directly, all appears OK.
Keys copied and pasted read as follows:
