For the last few months everytime i start up my "system32"
folder opens up by itself. I've done all of the typical
error checks and new update downloads i can find, but it
still just opens up for absolutely no reason. any
suggestions on how to stop it from opening? (besides
reinstalling)

Check the startup folder under Start, All Programs. Most likely a shortcut to
the folder got dropped there. Right-click the shortcut in the startup folder
and select Delete.
