System Tray

Sorry about asking such a basic question, but I can't find
anything in the online help relating to the system tray --
the name isn't even in the index.

I want to disable the feature that hides some of the icons
in the system tray. I have a utility that hides *all* the
icons when I don't want to see them, and when I do see them
I want to see them all.

How do I disable that feature?

Right-click the START button and click PROPERTIES|TASK BAR tab
UNcheck the Hide Icons box at the bottom

The bottom-right of the Taskbar is named the Notification area.

Right-click a blank area on Taskbar and be sure "Lock the Taskbar is
unchecked; click on that item to do so if it is checkmarked

Right-click a blank area again; this time click on Properties to get the
dialog box with Taskbar tab being on top. Then click on Customize... button
in lower-right to get a seconf box listing items in Systray and their status
to the right.

Click on each item you want to change to highlight it. Note now that to
right is a down-pointing triangle. click on it; a list of 3 items appears.
Click on what you want it to do.

OK, then Apply and OK in first box to set. If desired, re-lock Taskbar same
way it was unlocked.
