System Tray Icons

I set the certain icons to always show or to always hide.

The problem is that this setting only works for one session. When I turn
off the computer and turn it back on, the system tray icons are reset to
default (or, at least do not have the same settings I had set during the
pervious session.)

Is there any way to keep the desired settings permanently? I know what I am
doing should be enough, but it doesn't stay set permanently.

Can anything be done?
