System Tray Icons on taskbar

I have a Compaq 2700 laptop with XP Home loaded. After
applying the SP1a patches I noticed that the system tray
icons on the taskbar will not hide like the did beform. I
have gone to the proerties and made ure tha I have the
option checked for them to hide but it is not working?
Any thoughts on how to fix this. Registry?
I know this is minor but it should work.
