My problem is that when I start up my new system (bought
jan 2004}after a short time it will shut down for no
apparent reason. It will restart after a short time, but
then it sometimes shuts down again after a while .After
the system has been running for awhile it seems to be
ok.What do you think can be wrong

Mick, does it completely shutdown or restart right away? It could be a
weak or flaky Power Supply. You could also rt click MyComputer>select
Properties>Advanced>Startup and Recovery-Settings>Uncheck
Automatically Restart. Next time it happens it may give you an error
message.

Does it happen the same time of day - could be related to a
spike in the power supply.

Had a similar problem to you - it turned out that it was
happening the same time each day - got a better PSU and and
UPS.

Is it overheating?

Tony.
