For the last week or so on my Toshiba laptop the system
will suddenly get very choppy - mouse cursor movement is
erratic, typing comes in spurts, etc. Pulling up Task
Manager and looking at Processes, I can see it's the System
process doing it; it keeps spiking up to near 100% usage
and back down, even though there's nothing running on the
machine that should take that kind of processor time.
Rebooting fixes things for a while until it happens again.
Anyone have this? What'd you do? I'm getting ready to
reinstall the OS if I can't find a quicker fix.
