System startup global entry

Hi,

I installed service pack two on an XP Pro machine. I am getting a message
with each bootup that shows a file that is trying to be installed.

It says

Category: System Startup Global Entry
Change: Value Deleted
Entry Kernel Fault Check
Old Data: System Root

I am trying to figure out what this means. Is this a windows thing that I
should allow or some type of spyware to deny. For the time being I keep
selected Deny. Nothing adverse is happening when I do this but I am
interested in what it means.

Thanks,

Chuck

Are you running spybot s&d? I am and this just happened to me upon reboot - insistent message whether to allow registry change "kernal fault" etc but when I opted for more info there was none (what's that about?).

Google search discovered an answer at spybot forums:http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=22869

Apparently this is not anything to worry about. LSS, whatever it is wants to run at startup but that would take more sys resources and it will open if needed so it's not a problem where it is.

Hope this helps.
