System sounds

Help, I'll try this again.
Hi,'I've installed XP unto 3 different boxes and none of them have
system sounds. In Control panel "sounds" it says that there is no sound
card. BUT I now it has one because music on a CD plays just fine.
Any ideas?

Did that. Everything there says is working properly. Music plays fine,
just no system sounds.
