System slowdown

It seems that every time I install another update to Windows XP my system
gets slower and slower. It usually take over a minute to start any program
or go load another window in Explorer. I have run Ad-Aware, Spybot, and
virus scan and all come back clean. Does anyone have any idea what could be
causing this slow down?

Check your system resources and run an analysis of your drive using disk
defrag.
