System Shutdown initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

C

Consuelo

I exprience frequent System Shutdown while connected to
the Internet Explorer or surfing.

The message states that the Remote Procedure Call has
terminated unexpectedly.

The conidtion causes the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM to initiate
a System Shutdown.

What causes the problem and how can it be resolved ?

Would appreciate receiving your response at the indicated
email address.

Thanks in advance

have you got a personal firewall installed? ie mcafee etc
if not then do so.
Have you got anti virus software installed? ie norton
anti virus 2004 if not then do so.

If you have anti virus software installed make sure all
the virus definations are up to date.

doing this will stop the shutdowns.

forgot to mention the cause of the problem.

your machine is reacting to malicious activity on the
internet, your computer preempts the threat and shutsdown
presumably because you haven't updated your virus
definitions or even worse---no anti virus or firewall

It's the MSBlaster virus. Period.
