What does it mean when the message "system.sav missing or corrupt" or
something like that) appears during first boot?
I have made several images trying to learn XPe, and some of them lead to a
system.sav problem.

System.sav is the Pre-FBA System Hive. You can go in with regedit and look
at it... sounds like something is corrupt, or your image is not building
properly...

Check dependencies, and try rebuilding the image.
