Hi there,

I've got a problem with my PC. My PC crashed and I'm not sure what was the
problem, but now I am trying to restore the system frm Windows Vista Home
Premium DVD. When I give the System Restore cmd, it gives me a mesage,
something like "system is restoring" (sorry, I dont remember very well this
frase), and then it takes too long, about 4 hrs, and in the screen is the
same msg, without any restoring file or..., any other mesage at least. Then I
switch off my PC presing the on/off switch.

If anyone has any idea what I can do to restore my PC, from the DVD, Please
Help.

Many Thanks

HI. WHEN MY PC CRASEHED I THING ONE SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM. I CLEAN MY HD
AND RE-INSTALL MY OS AND MY ALL SOFT BECAUSE THE PROBLEMS ARE MANY AND
DIFFERENTS. IT`S BETTER SOLUTION IN MY OPINION.

Does your PC continue to crash or was it a one time event?

Why are you trying to run SR from a disk instead of from the Control
Panel>Backup and Restore Center?

Hi,

I can not access the controll pannel. the screen stands Black. that's why I
prefered to reinstall the windows vista from the CD. do you have any other
sugestion, please..

Hi, Thanks for answering,

I'd like to ask now, How can I clean my HD, there is any command I should RUN?

Many thanks.

Won't help much now, but M$ restore to be blunt, sucks. You should
look at something like Acronis to make sure you don't get into this
sittuation again.

Try starting in Safe Mode by continuously tapping the F8 key.
Run System Restore from there.

hi again,

now, when I try to reinstall from the original CD, windows vista home
premium, at the step that asks "select the operation system and clik NEXT" I
select windows vista and Next, and a mesage window appeares, which tells that
windows has detected a problem and will restore it automatically. In this
time I dont have any obsion to follow up. a CANCELL buton is inactive, and
i've been waiting for any response up to 2 hrs without any proffit.

If you do have any further idea in this point, it will be very helpfull,

Cheers!

hi! YES. YOU USE BIOS SYSTEM.
PUT YOUR CD-ROM OR DVD AND FORMAT THE HD. THIS WAY NO GOOD. YOUR CD OR DVD
NO FORMAT.
SO USE THE BIOS SYSTEM. STARTED YOUR COMPUTER. USE DELETE. YOUR BIOS SYSTEM
OPEN. SEARCH BY HARD DISC
AND GIVE ONE NEW ORDER. STARTED MY WINDOWS BY CD-ROM OR DVD. CLOSE THE BIOS
SYSTEM. NOW THE WINDOWS START BY CD-ROM OR DVD. BUT AFTER FORMAT YOUR HD,
TRY THE OPINION MR. BOB. MORE EASY.
