Hi, I have used system restore and because I removed programs before I did
this the programs they still show as being installed. How do I remove them
from my program uninstall? Thanks

you have 2 options..

either you install and uninstall the programs again just to make sure all
trash is removed, or you download this small tool:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/myuninst.html

you can delete the entries that are no longer uninstallable with the red X

see the download link on the bottom of page...

after you do that you might want to see if any remains of the programs exist
in the c:/program files folders...

Hi,

System Restore was never intended to be used to uninstall applications, and
should not be used to do so.

Undo the restore and uninstall the applications via Programs and Features in
Control Panel.

It seems that vista users & MVPs have a reading comprehension problem.

He was not trying to uninstall programs with system restore. He used system
restore to fix a unrelated problem .

However after the restore point automatic snapshot he had uninstalled
programs. When reverted back to the time of the restore point the add remove
list had them listed, while most of the programs were indeed missing most of
the files since system restore does not restore all files, thus he could not
uninstall them properly.

Do you understand this?

Bert-
I did the UNINSTALL from the add/remove section under the control
panel..While it DID take it out of the Add/remove area , it is STILL on the
desktop and still works when I click on it.
This is from pogo.com and I cannot get rid of it...I was told to do a system
restore by someone on this site but I do not want to screw up my computer
anymore than it already is..I get a blinking screen that goes BLACK, then
desktop, then Black again, then desk finaly loads.

I have no idea how to fix this............
Any help will be greatly appreciated. and by the way, my clock is set
correctly..If THAT means anything?
