Craig Dombrowski

I have previously tried to install SP 2 and it really messed up my computer.
I am trying to get up the nerve to try it again. As a result I have been
attempting to create restore points so that I can have some options if the
SP 2 install goes bust. I have created three restore points on Thursday and
Friday. Today when I looked in the restore calender they were no longer
there.

I have the system restore set at 12%
I have 98MB of drive capacity
I have just checked Net Start and system restore is running.
I have looked at the event viewer and there are no errors for SR in the last
two months.
I have attempted to find out how much memory SR is using but cannot find the
System Volume Information folder - yes I have searched in hidden folders.

Please help me with these issues.

Hi Craig,

Here are the instruction on how to view the System Volume Information
folder
http://bertk.mvps.org/html/tips.html#SRFileLocation

Test System Restore before installing SP2.
Create a new restore point named TEST.
Create a new folder in the desktop an name it TEST.
Now restore to the Test restore point.
You will receive a message if the restore was successful.

I would also suggest limiting SR to only monitor the drive Windows is
installed on be installing SP2.
