system restore

I just used system restore to see if a corrupted program
was ok a month ago when I first got this new computer.
When the system went back about a month, the corrupted
program was still no good so I tried to undo the restore.
It said it couldn't undo it and so I lost a bunch of
information in my pictures and music files. If I can't
undo the restore does anyone know how to find the lost
pictures and music? The restore page says it doesn't lose
files when you restore but I guess that's not right.

Hi

System Restore doesn't monitor data files. So the picture and music files
should still be where they were.

you've fallen into the trap of not having created
a 'resore point' in the first place so I think there was
nothing for it to restore - am I right? Unless you went
to System Restore and made it do a 'backup' first you
will have wiped whatever you deleted. I suppose you
didn't have any other backup facilities like Norton's
GOBack running?
