System Restore Won't Restore

I tried running System Restore several times, each time with a different
restore point selected, but each time the result is that after restarting, it
tells me that it was unable to restore to the point I selected. What can I
do, because I need to use it to (hopefully) fix a problem I'm having with
Outlook?

Perhaps you don't need to restore windows XP but to repair Outlook. Do
you know what the problem is and do you know that there are outlook
Newsgroups dedicated to outlook problems.

How about:

news://microsoft.public.outlook.installation

hth

what is wrong with Outlook?
Run "Detect and Repair" from Outlook Toolbar under "Help" tab , then drop
down menu. Can also perform "Repair" from MS Office CD.

As far as Sytem Restore, you can try to figure out why it is not working
OR
Turn System Restore off and then back on to Reset. Then restore should be
okay from this point on. INOTE: This will disable all previous points but
they don't seem to work anyway.

A few weeks ago, I had to re-install Symantec Antivirus because it stopped
functioning (came home from work and saw a yellow ! across the Symantec
Antivirus icon in my tray). Now, if I keep getting the message via Symantec
that "Your email message was unable to be sent because your mail server
rejected the message. (1003,11)" I followed the instructions as posted on
the Symantec site and disabled the Internet E-mail Auto-Protect feature from
the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition I run, restarted the computer, but
no luck. I can receive mail from others, but I can't send mail with
attachments. I'm now doing as you suggested and running the "detect and
repair" tool as I type this.
