I am attempting to restore my program to a past date that is listed as an
acceptable date and the return is that it cannot be restored to that date. I
have literally tried every date in December 2006 that is in bold and the
message is that it cannot be restored to that date.

I have the same problem!!

System Restore fails to restore:

Hi Lynn,

Are there any Norton applications installed?

Try running System Restore from Safe Mode.
Restart your computer, and then press F8 during the initial startup to start
your computer in Safe Mode.

Log on to an administrator account. In Safe Mode type or paste the following
command in the Start - Run box then press Enter.

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

There are also other possibilities that can cause this to happen. The
following pages have some troubleshooting steps to take.

If System Restore will not function in Safe Mode, then there’s a good change
the failed restore is being caused by a corrupt restore
point. Turning System Restore off then on again will purges all existing
restore points, and creates one new one. There are other possible causes
discussed in the following troubleshooting steps that may preserve existing
restore points.

I have been having the same problem with trying to Restore System. After
printing out the instructions you gave since I am a novice mine is now
working.

I have Nortons 2007 and had tried all the instructions without success and
then I tried using Safe Mode AGAIN but before I had been clicking no to the
popup regarding Recover System and going all the way to the desktop and then
going to Start, Programs, Accessories and then Recovery System.....this does
NOT work. If you click YES to using the recovery System on the popup going
into the Safe Mode it will work....or it did for me.

Hope this helps someone else because I have been very frustrated in trying
to find a fix for this and finally found you guys.....:)

i had that problem before..
try this once.. as long as you dont need a restore date from before..
try turning off system restore and restart..then reenable it..
it helped me once.

just something to try i guess.
