If I do a system restore, when the system restarts my Lacie USB disk
is not recognised, even if I unplug, plug in again etc. A reboot
fixes it. Seems like it might be a timeout problem due to the time
system restore takes to start the desktop.

Not a major problem, but a nuisance. Has anyone any clues how to fix
this?

Thanks Bert

I already had that drive (G:) disabled in System Restore. I will try
unplugging it prior to doing the next System Restore, then plug it in
when it is finished.

Thanks again Bert

It is a Lacie Hard drive with no power switch and it derives power
from the USB port, so I should be able to simply unplug the USB cable.

Yes, but only after going to "Safely Remove Hardware", highlighting
the drive in question then clicking Stop. The "Safely Remove Hardware"
feature can be accessed via the icon in the system tray. Doing this
will avoid corrupting System Restore and loosing data.
