System Restore - simple question

I have one simple question - it restores a point at 24 hours but it does not
go back more than one day - am I correct?
If it is Saturday, there is no way to restore to say, Wednesday?

Incorrect. You can have many restore points and return to any of them.

If you start System Restore
and then select 'Restore my computer to an earlier time'
then click on the 'Next' button, you should see a calendar with the dates
(in Bold numbers) when a restore point was created.
Any of these dates are valid restore points but usually the most recent
dates have
the best chance of undoing issues you are having with a PC.

Still wrong. SR automatically creates restore points approx. every 24
hours (assuming the computer is on). Some applications create a restore
point before they install (or in the case of "cleanup utilities" perhaps
before they delete things). You can make a manual restore point at any
time.

The number of restore points available depends on how much disk space is
allocated to SR. By default, this is 12% of your hard drive. With
today's very large drives, this is much too much space and may even
cause problems. You should manually configure SR to use about 1 GB.

If you have adjusted downward the disk space available for SR points then it
might only save one. If there is not enough disk space it might also delete
the previous to save the newest. You don't give any details about your
computer so who knows?

I use IE7 Windows XP Pro - 32 gb available 1.5 and the system restore is set
at 36,253 mb.
