system restore question

From what I can understand, I can't set the percentage of system restore I
want like you could in XP, is this right? If so, why did they downgrade
that option?

Thanks I was able to reduce that, but that is sure a lot of trouble going
it, why couldn't it have been easier like XP? Just adjust a slider and
that's it.
