Can I....
create a restore point for "today".
Then restore to a point 15days ago and xp is worse or no different.. can I
restore back to today again?
Thank you.

It's easier than that. To undo the last restoration:

Access System Restore through Help and Support.
Click Undo my last restoration. Save all files and close all programs, and then click Next.

Hi,

Yes, manual restore points can be created using the System Restore
wizard.
As long as the restore is performed within Windows, and not Safe Mode or
Command Prompt, an Undo restore point will be automatically created.

See this site for full instructions.

Restoring back 15 days may cause more problems than it solves. All
monitored files of applications installed after the restore point was
created will be removed causing the application to fail. It's best to
first uninstall any applications installed after the restore point being
restored to.

thank you Ted and Bert and any subsequent replies..
I meant to say, ".... 15days ago and IF xp is worse or no different....."
