system restore problems

I recently used system restore to restore some old problems that I had
deleted, but had just created a disk cleanup and removed all old restore
points except the most recent, so I went too far back and used a day that had
a restore point that was deleted, so now it caused a whole bunch of problems
to malfunction, including the Help and Support center, and system restore in
unable to run also. How can I undo the last system restore if I cant even get
into it in the first place?

Try this:

Click Start.
Click Run...
In the box next to "Open:" type:
c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
Ckick OK.

If that doesn't work:

Click Start.
Click Run...
In the box next to "Open:" type: run
Click OK.
Next to the prompt type:
c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

Hi Melinda,

System Restore was not designed to restore or reinstall deleted or
uninstalled applications. System Restore monitors a core set of system
files and the registry. Application installations contain files that are
not monitored by SR, and will not be restored. The same goes for apps
that were installed after a restore point being restore to. So you can
see this will not work, and will most likely cause more problems than it
solves. SR is most effective when use immediately after a problem is
discovered.

If disk clean-up was used to clear out restore points then there should
have only been one restore point available. I have never scene or heard
of going back to a restore point that was deleted!!! Deleted restore
points will not show up on the SR calendar. Please explain how you
preformed this restore?
