System Restore Problems, creating a restore point.

Every time I have tried to manually create a restore point, because I am
removing some things from my registry, a box pops ups saying the restore
point is being created, it may take a few minutes. This box then stays on
the screen and even after an hour, it seems to have frozen. Can someone
please help me.

Turn off system restore (system in control panel) restart windows, turn it
back on (this loses all previous restore points)

if no help: To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type: SFC
/SCANNOW
