System restore problem

trying to use system restore on XP home. The sytem goes through all of the
processes, but at the end of the day, it comes back and says the system
cannot be restored. I have tried another date and restore point with the
same results.

you try via safemode?

most malware destoys the sytem restore points. the best thong to do is
backup your data and do a clean install of the operatong system. system
restore is a weak tool.

One reason for that behavior could be if you have Norton Antivirus software.
It has an "Auto-Protect" feature which may be blocking the restore process.
If so, disable the Auto-Protect feature and try again.
