System Restore Points

I have read all the Help on my HP computer about this
subject and I cannot find the answer to this question.
Can I, or HOW can I, lock in a restore point so that it
will not be overwritten or scroll off by subsequent
restore points? Is it necessary to turn off System
Restore completely? I would prefer it to continue
establishing restored points, but just not change the
ones I want to retain.

You can't.
If you turn off System Restore ALL Restore Points are immediately
deleted and unavailable for future use.
It sounds link you want System Restore to function like a back-up
application.
You should get an application that fulfills your needs as System
Restore is limited and does nothing for personal data.
