System Restore never works

Hi everybody,
Upgraded to Vista Home Premium half a year ago. Have tried to use System
Restore on various occasions, but I always get the error message "System
Restore did not complete successfully". That happens with any restore point I
chose. I recently by mistake enabled autodial on my dial-up connection and I
have not been able to undo it (Internet Options "Never dial up" does not
help). It drives me insane. It would be great if I at least could get Syst.
Rest. to work. I have limited experience with computers.

Got any Norton products installed? If yes, this is a known issue with
