Hi,
I have carried out a system restore and have lost all of my pictures and
documents, I tried to then restore to an earlier time however, this did not
rectify the problem and I cannot find my docs anywhere.
Would appreciate the help

Hi

System Restore doesn't monitor data files - pictures, documents etc.- so I
can't see how SR could have had anything to do with the lost files. Have
you tried searching in Windows Explorer for the extensions of the lost
files?

If you used a CD that came with your computer which says System Restore, or
Restoration, or something to the effect, you probably lost it all. If you
have failed to learn the golden rule of computers, now is the time to learn
it, before it happens again:
BACKUP. Before you make any changes to the system, Backup. Before you
install something, Backup. Always and regularly, BACKUP.

Hi

Open Windows Explorer, go to Search and then search for the files - as *.jpg
(Image file), *.doc (MS Word document) etc. The extension would depend on
which program created the file

The System's System restore does not deal in such files at all. If you
mean a Restore carried out by a means from the machines maker, those
usually put it back to ex-factory state, as required, and you lose
everything
