Hi

I spent much of Sunday tidying up my hard disc, backing up all my important
stuff to a second internal hard drive, and unfortunately as it turned out,
deleting a lot of important files in the process.

Monday morning big problems. Black screen, even Safe Mode failed, and I
carried out a System Restore to boot up. Unfortunately I did not know that
it would remove all the stuff on the 2nd HD and I was not aware of the
facility to turn off monitoring on other drive, I tried to reverse the
Restore, but there was no Restore point to restore to, and no "Undo last
Restore" on the SR page.

I haven't done anything with the 2nd HD since, and wonder if the files are
still there, on the HD, but with the pointers removed by System Restore so
they can't be seen?

Is there any way to access these now?

Would some sort of file recovery program work? Or is it possible to find a
system restore achive file and reverse this somehow?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Andy

What type of files did you move to the second drive?
Monday morning big problems. Black screen, even Safe Mode failed, and

Did you run System Restore from the Safe Mode Command Prompt?

System Restore would only remove system type files form the second
drive.

Performing a System Restore from Safe Mode or the Command Prompt does
not create a undo restore point.
I haven't done anything with the 2nd HD since, and wonder if the

You could try using - Restoration - file undelete utility:

Thanks Bert

I didn't know that System Restore from Safe Mode or the Command Prompt does
not create an undo restore point. Have learnt the hard way

Restoration prog very good, didn't do the trick unfortunately but glad to
know of this program
