System restore double entries

Wondering Why

I used system restore the other day and when I was checking out the
registry, almost everything had a double entry. Why did that happen and how
do I fix it?

Please be more specific. Some things in the registry have more than one
route of access: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ is an alias for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\ and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ for your
specific subsection of HKEY_USERS\
