System Restore & Disk clean

When I try to use System Restore, it goes through the
motions but after re-boot the message is that it didn't
restore to the date specified. I used one of the check
points on the callendar. Also it will only go back a few
days - nothing has been physically done to cause this.
Also my Disk Clean will not clean.

Do you have free harddrive space?

If so, I would start by running chkdsk with all the repair options.

Start > Run, type CMD, hit enter

at the command prompt, type

chkdsk /r /f

hit enter....windows will say it can't gain access, would you like to
perform chkdsk at the next boot up, say yes.

Reboot.

Take a walk, this will take A LONG TIME (depending on the size of your
disk).
