System Restore causes error

When I tried System Restore I get the message that Microsoft is very sorry
and wants to phone home. Anyone have a fix handy>

Without more information, I would suggest reinstalling System Restore.

Did this work; and if it did, I have a question. How do you restore "system
restore" only and not the whole of Windows XP? I"m having restore problems.
It will restore from a restore point I make TODAY, but not one from
YESTERDAY. Very strange.

Try it. It can't hurt. Let us know if it solves your problem.
