System restarts when using internet (doesn't seem to be blaster)

G

Glyn

I have just gone on-line with broadband. When I use the
internet my PC restarts automatically, and I don't get any
error or warning messages telling me why. I have XP and
have followed the instructions to do with the blaster
virus, to do with RPC and disabling System Restore,
running the virus scan (however no virus was found) and
installing the patch. It has made no difference at all,
the system still restarts without warning.

Please Help!!!

Can you check the Event Log? Maybe that will tell you?

XP has an option set by default that reboots your computer on a serious
error. Maybe this is it?

Bit difficult as I would have automatically presumed the blaster was
responsable. Ensure that you do not have c:\windows\msblast.exe
