System recovery

We accidently recovered the computer to the original day
we purchased it by accident and now we need to get the
information back is it possible?

Hi

Did you use System Restore? If so try a different date - nearer to 'today'.
What kind of XP CD have you got? If an OEM version, then everything would
have been deleted as this kind of CD can only perform a 'Clean' install of
XP.

Exactly what procedure did you use to recover the computer?
Many OEMs such as HP, Compaq and others completely overwrite all data
so the data is not retrievable by normal means.
In that case the only chance is a 3rd party data recovery program:
