System Recovery Msg

I'm traing to reformat and just erase all info in my computer and then install everything from scrach. But when I use the Sstem Recovery Msg this is poping out: Cannot normally execute the initial setting of partition info this utility exits and your computer is rebooted

Another thing, I dont like having a hard drive with two partitions C: and D: is there any good reason I should have them? if not, how I can just get one C:

If you have your XP disk then you go through a complete new install formatting the drive. Here is where you will choose the number and letters of the partititons you want. Good luck.
