thanks. any idea why it just started doing this? my CPU
usage is now always above 90% and i really don't think
windows xp needs all that processing. it used to hover
between 0-4%

You did not reply to the thread, nor include prior text in your message.
So it's not certain what the issue is, and what you have already been
advised to try.
