System Process Using 100% CPU

Hi

I am running Window XP Prof on a P4 2.8C (HT Enabled) with an Epox 4PDA2+
Motherboard and 512 MB Memory. After a reboot and some mundane explorer
activities (Copying and browsing) the system process will start to use 100%
of the CPU. The CPU Usage does not stop and only a reboot will solve it, only
to start the process over again a while later. Where do I start to trouble
shoot this problem?

Thanks for the links, but adware and spyware are not really in the picture
here, this problem occurs right after a clean install of Windows XP which is
protected by Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition 9.0.

I have not been able to attribute this problem to NAV as yet, but will look
into it.
