Until a few days ago my 366 MHz Celeron was overclocked to 457 Mhz while
running a Voodoo card. I then changed to a Radeon 9200 and now the XP System
Properties shows my speed as 367 MHz even though the clock speed setting in
the bios remains the same as before at 83 MHz. Is this a Radeon or an XP
Home issue. Keeping in mind that I am
not a computer genious is there a solution to this puzzle. In other words is
there something I can do to get the overclock speed up to what it was
before.
Thank you

A Radeon 9200 is very much wasted in a system at less than
100 MHz/400 MHz FSB and a CPU less than 1 GHz. XP is
probably reading the CPU data, the BIOS or jumpers control
the actual CPU speed.

Time to spend about $200 and upgrade your mobo/CPU...

Windows has nothing to do with overclocking unless you count the instability
in any software running on an overclocked computer.

If you don't understand what you are doing by overclocking your computer
then you shouldn't do it. Overclocking isn't a free "upgrade".

You would be better off searching through the dedicated overclocking sites
and learning why your computer has a problem. That way you will gain an
understanding of the issues involved in overclocking, positive and negative.
