I have have a user that is running W2K and is receiving the following
error.....

"Windows was unable to save all the data for the file.
\device\harddiskVolume2\WINNT\System32\Config\SystEvent.evt

I have tried to check the system log but receive an error that they are
corrupt.

Help please!

This could be a number of problems. It appears that the problem has already
occurred and what you need to determine the problem is broken. Worst case
scenario, you can clear the event logs and try to regenerate to the error
again. From Event Viewer, right-click the Log and select Properties. Then
click the Clear button.
