System Information (msinfo32.exe)

Has anyone else tried to use system information on a remote computer after XP
Sp2? All I get is machine not found. Does anyone know the port number to
open to let this work again? Thanks.
 
Yes, I can get to the shares. Computer management works as well.

I see. you need to configure your firewall.

Try turning off your firewall (On Both) because it might not be allowing you
to access that port.



To do this
Go to Control Panel Then to Security Centre

Then click configure Windows Firewall (Also disable other firewalls, because
these may conflict until you get this-

Then disable the firewall:

Worked? I have other solutions if that doesn't work.
