My system (XP Home Edition) has started to hang randomly.
There is no pattern to the hang that I can detect. It can
happen anywhere from bootup to shut down or anywhere in
between running any application.

Can anyone help me as to how I can get any information from
XP or any of its tools to start to isolate the problem.

Thanks.

Start > Run: msconfig and knock out all the startup items. If your problem
goes away, it's in there. Reenable half the items, reboot and try again.
Divide and conquer.
