System Freezes

I have had many freeze ups doing various tasks but here is one I can
continually replicate. Hope it may provide a solution.
In XP Tour select: Text and Images only, runs fine
Select: Text, Animation, Music, Voice - locks loading.
You only see outline of first screen named "Flash" over desktop and
hourglass.
System freezes.

Help please
XP Pro is OK, newly reloaded and No Virus, HD, or Memory problems found.

Could be ram, video card or power supply going out. Disconnect all
peripherals except hard drive, then turn on and see if it still has the
problem. If not, could be too much draw on power supply. Also if you have
more than one stick of ram remove one and see if you still have the problem.
Then replace and remove the other. If all this does to have an effect,
replace video card. If you have never been inside a PC use caution, a static
guard and do a little research on Google before attempting.
