I have upgraded to XP, both a formatted clean install and an upgrade. My
system continues to freeze after about 15 minutes of use, or if the activity
is heavy such as when defragging or exploring windows. No error messages
are given, and I have installed all the latest updates for my hardware. I
have checked my system compatibility and on Diskeeper 7.0 was flagged, so I
removed it before the installations. Any software or method to determine
what is causing the problem? My system configuration is:

Epox 8kta2 with 1 GHz AMD Athon
ATI Radon 7000
Maxtor 30 gb
Seagate 200 gb
WinTV

Also consider ventilation. Be sure that the case is in no way obstructed,
and that fans are working.

A 'sagging' power supply can also contribute to problems. Consult a
technician.

A different video driver may also be worth a test. See the chip or card
manufacturer's WEBsite. If you are unfamiliar with this process, it's
best left to someone who is.
