system files HELP!!!

S

Sarah

This seems to me the most helpful ng for xp so here goes..

I NEED to know WHY some pictures (jpg's) are hidden system files?

Here is the story...

I have a folder called music, I ripped a few cd's, put in my music drive in
their own folders...

ok

I am in windows explorer yesterday, in a Linda Ronstadt folder,I highlight
all mp3's and right click, play, and I can work and listen to Linda.
Okay, I am sitting here and I look up at the screen and the cover jpg and
listening, jpg's disappear from the folder... right in fron tof my eyes..

IF I go in tools, folder options and tell it to "SHOW all system files,
don't hide them" I see the pics in the folders, light grayed out, and
properties on the jpg's show an unhilightable check in SYSTEM file..

WHY are my jpg's system files??

I Don't like it and don't want them hidden or System files

Straight up Sarah, I would suggest running Scandisk and select the "Fix
system files"

Click "Start"....then hover over my computer, right click "C: drive",
then select "Properties"

Choose the second tab along the top called "Tools", then click fix system
files and follow the prompted message that windows will do this, when next
time it reboots.

SO REBOOT NOW

Not sure what caused it, but here's a fix your files. Open a command prompt window, change to the
root of your music drive, and type: attrib -s -h *.jpg /s
