System File Checker

I would like to run System File Checker without using my original CD.
What files or folders do I copy to the hard drive and how do I change
the pointer in the Registry? If I choose to use the original CD, What
do I change in the Registry? Thank you.

Hi,

Copy /i386 to your hard drive. Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion. In the
right pane, change SourcePath to reflect your settings.

That last post hardly gives one a clue as to what needs to be done....
After windows,set-up,open source path,L.click on:InstallationSources,go
to edit,modify,change or add to youre source,close out.L.click on SourcePath,
do the same..One or the other lets you add to the list...Seems kinda odd
though
that if the OS & youre files are on the same hd,hows it going to check
itself...
