system error - divide by zero

I have Windows xp home edition and I get a system error -
divide by zero message when I try to open my Ultimate
Family Tree program. This is the only time I get the
message so far, however, I get the message each time I
try to open it. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

How old is the program? If it was of the Win95 era or earlier, select
the familytree.exe file (whatever the real file name is), properties,
compatibility, Win95 or WFW3.3, etc. and try running it again.
