I removed permissions for the group EVERYONE from the system drive (c:\). I added the Authenticated Users group. Should this apply to: "this folder only" or "this folder, subfolder, and files"? Thank You.

Is this a new installation of Windows or a old one with lots of applications
/ data etc...?

if its new then do it right now as this is the best time. YES apply to this
folder and subfolders and files also...

but if its an existing isntallation with data and apps...check your apps
rights requirment before you do any thing like this...

Generally you can configure the permission on the main security page and it then will
apply to folders/subfolder/files. You probably want to giver them no more than
read/list/execute. --- Steve
