find anything about it being mal ware or anyway to remove or fix it.
have any of yall heard of this.
i have and update and scan antispyware and antivirus programs .
some daily , others once a week.
thanks
oh yeah, i do not have the installation disk for my system, so i cant do a
repair or reformat.

Hi Jazz:

the fact that you dont' remember having HP software does not mean your
problem is malware. You may have had HP on your system at some point in the
past-- it might even have been trial software from when the computer was new.

I recently had a similar problem with HP software. Unfortunately, I ended
up electing to do a clean re-install of everything. The problem I had with
HP was that I had un-installed it but some remnants were apparently left
behind to cause havoc.

I still think it is worth the effort to try to find any remnants of Hp
software and get rid of them. It did not work for me but it is worth the
effort, especially since it sounds like re-installing would be a complex and
perhaps costly issue for you. Of course do a complete backup of important
data now if/while you still can. If you must re-install, look into the
possibility of obtaining a new Install CD from MS based on any info you might
be able to supply that proves you are a legitimate user with a legitimate
copy.

Good luck

Mark

Your major worry here needs to be finding/replacing the missing
install CD; everything else is minor without that; you can't even
try a Repair without it.

Exactly !! It has been my experience that just about any HP device software
iinstalls Memories Disk without asking permission. Furthermore, there is no
option to do a "custom install" during which Memories Disk could be
de-selected ... the software CD just auto starts and auto loads everything
whether you want it or not.

thanks, i went to regedit and found it, deleted it, found a keylogger in the
same location, deleted that also. but, the system is still crashing and
giving me the same answer from ms. that i need to up date the hp disk thingy.
i dont under stand, im running scans again
