System crash when connected to the internet

Hello,

I have an IBM Thinkpad with Windows XP sp1 freshly
installed. When connected to the internet I randomly get
the following error message (which shuts down the
computer when a timer reaches 60 seconds):

"The system is shutting down. ... This shutdown was
initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. The system process
c:\windows\system32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly...."

I don't know where to begin. What could be causing this?

Any response would be appreciated.

Marcel
